Subject Description

In Year 8 AFLW Academy students will build on their foundational skills and understanding of the game, focusing on enhancing their tactical awareness, technical abilities, and physical fitness.

Through this course, students will not only advance their AFL skills but also gain valuable life skills such as communication, collaboration, and resilience. They will have opportunities to reflect on their progress and set personal goals, promoting a positive and inclusive approach to physical education and sport.

A key component of the program is the development of fundamental movement patterns, which are essential for success in AFLW and other sports. These movement patterns include running, jumping, catching, and kicking, forming the basis for more advanced skills.

Sports Academy participants are expected to be committed to a high standard of performance and dedicated to developing their skills and knowledge within the sport.
