Subject Description

Year 9 Agriculture

At the conclusion of a semester students will gain vital knowledge of the Agricultural Industry, understanding of the importance of sustainability, safe workplace practices and how to interact with animals through an ethical and safe lens with a view to planning future subject selection and potential career pathways.

It's highly reccomended students complete Year 8 Agriculture.

Content

Engaging in various sustainable Agricultural topics including OHS, animal behaviour and design principles, we examine the importance of safety and sustainability in Agriculture.

Also, the impact design has on human and animal wellbeing and profit margins.

Assessment

Students will demonstrate evidence of learning through:

  • Practical participation in hands-on learning
  • 2 Theoretical Tasks

Additional Costs

Cost: $100.00 per year for course and training materials. $85.00 Uniform fee which becomes the property of the student (this is an approximate cost and will be adjusted accordingly). Suitable sturdy shoes are mandatory. Additional costs may be required for extended learning excursions.
