Stage 1 Music
Students develop and extend their practical music making skills through performing works for instrument/voice. They apply their musical understanding, skills, technique, and accuracy in refining and performing music, and in developing stage presence and skills in engaging an audience. Students analyse their chosen repertoire, and critique strategies to develop their performances, and reflect on, and evaluate, their performances as a soloist.
It is recommended that students have received at least three years of tuition on their chosen instrument/voice. Students need to be undertaking instrumental/vocal individual lessons. This 10 credit subject is spread over the full year.
Students will have developed their performance skills on their instrument/voice and developed skills in being a performer.
Students provide evidence of their learning through three assessments, including the external assessment:
