Stage 1 Music Advanced
Music Studies aims to develop a complete musician: performer and/or composer/arranger, musicologist, and critic. Students apply their knowledge and understanding of the elements of music, and musical conventions and styles, to develop and refine their musical works, and their own ideas and appreciation of music.
By the end of the course, students will have developed and extended their understanding of music theory and standard notation, score-reading, aural skills and application of technical language in discussing and manipulating the elements of music.
Students will have composed or arranged music, performed musical works and evaluated their own and others’ creative works.
The assessments are designed in conjunction with the cohort to incorporate students’ musical interests and strengths.
