Year 10 Drama
In Drama students view and review live theatre performances, participate in workshops conducted by theatre practitioners and participate in the planning, rehearsal and performance of dramatic works. Consequently, there is an emphasis on working in groups and performances. Dramatic ideas, roles, texts, conventions, styles, processes and technologies are explored and utilised in this subject.
This course is sometimes merged with Stage 2 for their group production, this course will require commitment to out-of-hours rehearsals and performances.
This subject prepares students for Stage 2 Drama, as well as fostering group and negotiation skills. There is scope for on-stage as well as off-stage roles in Drama. Off-stage roles could include design (lighting, sound, costume, set, make-up, digital projections), Front of house, publicity and dramaturgy.
