Unlock the secrets of human behavior with our engaging course on Psychology of the Individual and Social Influences. Delve into the study of personality, exploring various concepts and cultural and individual differences. Examine the factors that affect psychological health, and learn strategies to enhance emotional and social wellbeing.

Discover how factors at the individual, group, and organisational levels impact work performance and job satisfaction in Organisational Psychology. Understand the powerful effects of social influence on behavior, including obedience, conformity, and the impact of social media. Finally, explore the universal ways of learning through classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and observational learning. This course provides a comprehensive overview of the dynamic field of psychology.

Content

Students will undertake topics ‘Neuropsychology, Psychological Wellbeing’ and ‘Cognition.’ 

Neuropsychology is the study of biological factors (brain & nervous system) that affect our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. 

Psychological Wellbeing is the study of the strengths and virtues that enable people to thrive. 

Cognitive processes work together to determine how we make sense of the information we receive and how effective we are in the world. This topic focuses on thinking and memory. 

The topic requires the integration of the three strands of science to: Science inquiry skills, science as a human endeavour and science understanding.

Assessment

Assessment in this topic will consist of three to four summative tasks, including:

  • An applications task
  • Collaborative investigation
  • Tests and an examination
