Students wishing to do Stage 1 Physics in year 11 are required to do Pre-SACE Physics in Year 10.

Content

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Carry out a practical activity and write a scientific report.
  • Write in the genre of a Science as a Human Endeavour Essay.
  • Calculate speed, acceleration, displacement, and velocity.
  • Interpret motion graphs.
  • Describe how forces, momentum and inertia relate through Newton's Laws of motion.
  • Apply knowledge relating to conservation of energy and energy transformations.
Assessment

Students will be assessed on their scientific knowledge, practical and investigation skills as well as problem solving and communication skills.
