Subject Description

This unit focuses on environmental geography through an in-depth study of the forests. Students investigate a specific type of environment and environmental change in Australia and one other country.

Cost: Potential costs to cover field trip transport fees (approx. $10.00-$15.00)

Content

Students apply human environment systems-thinking to understand the causes and consequences of the change and evaluate and select strategies to manage the change through the application of geographical concepts and methods.

Assessment

There will be four summative assessment items across the semester that will use the Achievement Standards as specified by the Australian Curriculum. These will involve a range of activities including but not limited to an investigation, a fieldwork report and an issues analysis.
