Subject Description

Creative Arts A - Digital Arts introduces Year 10 students to the transformative world of digital image editing and surrealist art creation. This specialized subject explores the intersection of photography and digital artistry, where students learn to manipulate, composite, and enhance images to create compelling visual narratives that challenge reality and explore imaginative possibilities.

Key Learning Areas
Students master Adobe Photoshop's advanced tools and techniques, including layer manipulation, masking, compositing, color correction, and digital painting integration. The course emphasizes surrealist principles within digital environments, teaching students to blend multiple photographic elements seamlessly while exploring concepts of dream logic, impossible perspectives, and fantastical imagery. Critical analysis of historical and contemporary surrealist works informs creative decision-making.

Creative Applications
