The Religious Education classroom is a space of encounter, dialogue and wonder, where each student comes to understand that they are loved by God, encouraged to flourish in their learning and formation and are supported in realising their potential for agency and leadership.
The Crossways Religious Education Curriculum allows students the opportunity to explore various aspects of faith and spirituality. Students examine how different religious traditions respond to contemporary social and moral issues, whilst fostering empathy and appreciation for diverse perspectives. Through this approach, students gain a deeper understanding of spirituality, religion, and meaning in today's world.
The Made In The Image of God (MITIOG): Human Sexuality and Respectful Relationships Curriculum will allow students to explore the dignity of the human person, honouring the individual’s worth and their right to experience respectful and healthy relationships.
Student learning in Religious Education interacts appropriately and regularly with the complementary aspects of the religious life of the school, including personal and communal prayer, liturgy, social outreach, and youth ministry.
By the end of the course, students will have explored the beliefs, traditions and biblical themes of the Church and applied that to the world in which they live.
The following assessment types enable students to demonstrate evidence of learning in Year 10 Religious Education:
