Subject Description

Film Production

Students will be the developers of their own film products by exploring various areas of film and examine the power of editing. The course is developed so that minimal experience in editing and film making is necessary.

Students will lead their own learning journey, exploring different forms of techniques and applying them individually and in groups.

  • Learn story principles (structure, intent, characters, settings, points of view and genre conventions)
  • Project Management (timelines, scene selection, collaboration and communication skills)
  • Creating Skills and Techniques
  • Pre-production
  • Storyboarding, sketching planning and research
  • Capturing recording directing
  • Mixing, editing, assembling, layout and distribution
Assessment

Students will produce formative assessment pieces on specific skill sets; their summative
pieces being a practical folio depending on the topic.
