Subject Description

Future Thinking encompasses the Australian Curriculum learning areas of Science and Mathematics.

Students engage in a series of units which combine STEM thinking, to engage and develop their skills. Students will engage in both abstract and practical problems where they will need to develop their questioning by constructing hypotheses and conjectures.

They will work collaboratively and individually to carry out practical investigations. Students develop rigor in mathematical processes. They complete problems, leading to transferring the facts, skills and procedures to a variety of different situations.

Assessment

Students receive an overall Future Thinking grade which is broken down into

Assessment tasks are a combination of integrated and stand alone skills, including tests, research reports, mini debates using evidence, practical reports, models and investigations.
