Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary |
Today 15 August, Tenison Woods College hosted the combined Catholic Schools Regional Mass – Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary held at Tenison Woods College. On this Feast of the Assumption of Mary, Catholics give thanks and praise for the holy and blessed life of Mary the Mother of Jesus. We celebrate how God has honoured her and welcomed her into heaven.
Following on from the Mass, students from both Mary Mackillop Primary School and St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School joined Tenison Woods College students for buddy class activities.
After the Regional Mass, students from all schools participated in the ‘Walk for Timor’ around the school grounds. The walk symbolises the importance of ‘walking’ for the Timorese people who walk each day to collect water, to source food, to seek medical treatment to attend school.
‘We Walk in Solidarity with the people of Timor-Leste’.
