The Senior Music Camp was a fantastic success with over 45 students from Big Band, Concert Choir, Concert Band, Thunder Drum Corps, Senior Vocal Ensemble and Woodwind Ensemble enjoying 3 days of team building and rehearsals.
This culminated in a camp concert and a performance at Portland North Primary School.
The accommodation at Portland Lodge Coastal Camp was outstanding and was a new venue for our camp. Team building activities were organised by Music Captains Taylor Pearson and Portia Holdman around the theme of ‘Superheroes’, with students from Years 7-12 participating to the best of their abilities.
Several music staff, including Penny Mansell, Jack Heaven, Nathan Creedy, Jodi Swiggs and myself organised many rehearsals and the quality of the student’s performances rapidly improved.
Great catering from Alison Gwilym from the Sugarloaf Café was another highlight for many of the students. The second music camp for Junior School students involved in ensembles will be held later in the year, details to be advised.
Congratulations to all involved.
