This week’s awesome author is Lexy Oliver. I have the pleasure of teaching Lexy, who recently penned this extraordinary piece entitled ‘Death Knell’ as part of her English Assessment Type 2 – Creating Texts. The vignette is a powerful snapshot of a young husband witnessing the loss of his wife following an accident. We are not given details about what happened, instead, we are taken through the experience, mind-set and incredulous reaction of the speaker. Lexy employs powerful imagery to create a very real and haunting read.
Congratulations Lexy.
Lexy is a Year 12 student who enjoys spending time with her friends and looking after her two dogs. She is finding Year 12 challenging but very engaging and hopes to pursue a career in nursing in the future. Lexy has one sister and has been at Tenison Woods College since 2015.
