Tenison Woods College Sustainability Coordinator Tom Linnell, will be heading to the USA during June/July after receiving a Fellowship to Harvard University studying, ‘Sustainable Leadership for the twenty first century’.
Tom is also a successful recipient of the George Alexander Foundation Fellowship, which was administered by the International Specialised Skills Institute. Tom was one of two Australian Citizens awarded the Fellowship which will assist in travel, accommodation and tuition costs during his stay in America.
Maximising the experience, Tom has arranged to spend time in five schools leading the way with Sustainability, located in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Boston and Los Angeles. During his time in each of the schools, Tom intends to explore the ways these communities have been successful in creating a shared sustainable vision.
Tom says he wants to “gain an insight to a number of strategies learnt through both the course and school visits” and hopes to engage in a dialogue with Sustainability throughout the College community and Catholic Education South Australia.
The College community offers our congratulations to Tom on this opportunity, and look forward to hearing about this extraordinary experience upon his return.
