Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday
As we prepare for the season of Lent which begins today - Ash Wednesday, we first celebrate Shrove Tuesday.
For more information, we welcome you to read the main story.
Project Compassion
During Lent, students will be involved in fundraising for ‘Project Compassion’, which is run by Caritas. Each week during Lent there will be themes and stories of people who have had their lives changed by the money that has been raised through this Lenten fundraiser in previous years. Each family will receive a Project Compassion box and we encourage everyone to make donations into the box during Lent and then return it to the College by the end of the term. For families who may not receive a Project Compassion box and would like one, please collect them from either the Front Office, the PRC Office or through your child’s class teacher.
Lenten focus
This is a great app to use during Lent which provides videos, reflections and prayers each day. Click here to download the app.
Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross is a prayerful pilgrimage-type commemoration of the story of the events of Good Friday – Jesus’ last day. Students will be leading the Stations of the Cross at St Paul’s Church on 2 Fridays during Lent. Please note the following dates and advise Michelle Coote via email if your child/children would like to be involved.
All families and friends are encouraged to join us for both of these dates.
Palm Sunday – Family Mass
This year, Palm Sunday is celebrated on 14 April - the second Sunday of the month. Family Mass is normally celebrated on the fourth Sunday, however due to the school holidays we will have Family Mass on Palm Sunday. Please keep this date free as we would like to see as many children there as possible.
Parish Mass
Mass is celebrated in the Tenison Woods College Chapel every Thursday at 9.00am during term time. All members of the community are invited to attend. Each week the mass is attended and led by a different year level. The roster for the term is:
Week 6 – Thursday 7 March – Year 8
Week 7 – Thursday 14 March – Year 6
Week 8 – Thursday 21 March – Year 11
Week 9 – Thursday 28 March – Year 9
