Fun at Years 4-7 Swimming Carnival

20.02.19

Last week, Friday 15 February the College held our Junior Swimming Carnival for students in Years 4-7. Students finished classes at recess time and then caught a bus to the Aquatic Centre for an 11:15am start. Whilst the majority of students took part in only novelty events and a free swim, students with an interest or talent in competitive swimming took part in heats for freestyle, backstroke, breastroke and butterfly.

We have a very strong cohort of swimmers and there were some great times. One of the main reasons for our swimming carnival is to find students who qualify for SAPSASA swimming. The top few boys and girls in each year level in each event have been invited to take part in the SAPSASA District swimming Day on Thursday 21 February.

The Swimming Carnival finished with an hour and a half of free swim and finished up at 3:15pm. The weather was great and everyone seemed to really enjoy the heats, novelty events and free swimming.

A big thankyou to the Aquatic Centre for accommodating us, parents who came to watch and support their children and all those people who helped in some way with setup and packup.
