Last Friday, our Year 10 Drama Students were treated to a full day session with one of Australia’s most experienced and celebrated writers, Dr. Stephen Sewell from NIDA.
Stephen shared his experience as a director, playwright, screenwriter and novelist, over a career that has spanned 30 years.
Through this partnership between NIDA and Tenison Woods College, students along with 2 past College graduates will be mentored by Stephen to write a play based around their interests. This will devise a performance piece that will spark conversation and be relevant to young people.
Stephen comments, “The partnership between Tenison Woods College and NIDA – from our point of view – is about NIDA’s commitment of supporting young people in their growing appreciation of Performing Arts. We here at NIDA believe it’s not just about education, its developing creativity as a part of Australia’s economic future.”
Stephen will return to the College in another full day session in March.
