Year 11 student, Ruben Gustavsson recently competed in the 2019 Oceanic and Australian Laser Championships 1-8 January in Tasmania with a best individual performance of 7th place. After the National championships he travelled to Hobart and participated in the 2019 Australian Youth Championships 10-14 January. The regatta included 10 races, and again he showed great talent finishing 18th out of 34 boats making him the best performing SA sailor in the Laser 4.7 class. Ruben's best individual performance was a 6th position.
Ruben is looking forward to competing at the upcoming events which include the last leg of Australia Sailing's Tri series 9&10 February at Largs Bay and the South Australian Youth Championships 9&10 March at Adelaide Sailing Club.
