Congratulations to all 16 swimmers who competed at the Port Pirie SA country championships and superfish from January 20- January 24 2019. Please find the results from the competitions below.

SA COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Twelve students competed at the SA Country Championships at Port Pirie early in January with some great results.
Thomas Bignell broke the SA Country Championship record in the 14yo 50m Breaststroke.
Ashleigh Spicer and Hayley Pearson were part of the 16&U Female 200m Medley Relay team that won gold and broke the SA Country Championship Record and SA Country Record.
Hayley Pearson, Jaime and Ashleigh Spicer were in the Open Female 400m Medley Relay team that won gold and received the John Faux Trophy.
Many swimmers had podium finishes and competed in finals and regional relays.
The following swimmers medaled:
JAIME SPICER:
1st – 16&O 400 Free, 16-17yo 100 Back, 16-17yo 50 Back.
2nd – 17&O 200 Free.
THOMAS BIGNELL:
1st – 14yo 50 Back, 14yo 50 Breast.
2nd – Open 800 Free, Open 200m Breast, Open 200 Back, 14-15yo 400 Free, 14-15yo 100m Breast, 14yo 50m Free, 14yo 50m Fly, 13-14yo 200 Free.
3rd – 14-15yo 100 Back, 13-14yo 200 IM.
ALEISHA PEARSON:
1st – 12yo 50 Back.
2nd – 12yo 50 Fly.
3rd – 12-13yo 100 Back.
ASHLEIGH SPICER:
2nd – 15yo 50 Breast.
HAYLEY PEARSON:
3rd – 15yo 50 Free, 15yo 50 Fly, 15yo 50 Breast.
ELIJAH STRATFORD:
3rd – 10-12yo 200 Freestyle, 10-12yo 200 IM.
RELAYS:
SA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Five students went on to compete at the SA State Championships one week later in Adelaide. They were Hayley, Aleisha and Mikayla Pearson; and Thomas and Nicholas Bignell.
Three of our swimmers competed in finals over the five days. Thomas Bignell won two silver medals and a bronze and broke the 14yo 50m Breaststroke Country Record in heats and again in Finals. Aleisha Pearson and Nicholas Bignell had PBs all round and 10yo Mikayla Pearson competed in her first State Championships in the 10-11yo age group.
