Welcome back to the library for 2019, we’ve been a very busy place with visits from new and continuing students. Textbooks have been borrowed out to Year 8-12 but if your child has an overdue textbook from 2018 they will not be able to borrow until it is returned.
If they have any concerns about returning their book please ask them to see me in the library.
Our lunchtime activities have started off this week with card and board games, chess club, lego and some others to follow. The Premier’s Reading Challenge 2019 has commenced for the year and your child’s teacher has been sent a copy of the Record Sheet. It’s a great idea to keep a record of what students read at home too so they can add those to their list.
Next week is Library Lovers Day where we celebrate all things library. We have a competition for students to participate in as part of the celebration with details in this newsletter.
We have a beautiful “fairy garden” in our library for Term 1 which was kindly put together by Jen McCourt our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden teacher and Hospitality teacher. It has already captivated our young students who check out where the fairies and gnomes move about during the day.
Library staff are looking forward to the year ahead and sharing the events and activities we have planned.
