We have been focusing on poetry in English and the students had to write a poem about Remembrance Day, here is Cherry Chan's poem which was a standout.
Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day is a day,
Where you remember who passed away.
I remember who fought for us,
Long until the day was dusk.
Animals dead,
Not very well fed.
People hungry with nothing to eat,
And sergeants yelling, people getting beat.
I wear my poppy to say,
They cared for us to this day.
We are not hungry or tired,
Plenty have jobs, they’re hired.
We thank you, to this day,
Happiness is heading our way.
