On Tuesday the 30 of October, four Tenison Woods College students were involved in the Young Environmental Leaders Program, ran by the Natural Resource Management South East staff. The day began at the Bool Lagoon where we were blessed with lovely warm weather. During the day, we participated in a number of activities with all the other schools in our region. Each of the students had a favourite activity.
Molly Livingstone enjoyed the walk across the series of floating pontoons over the wetland. Paul Hammond loved looking for macro/micro invertebrates in the wetland ecosystem. Bailee Caldwell enjoyed throwing the boomerang with a local indigenous leader, Doug. Amelie Hayes enjoyed presenting our school poster and mural to the other students and adults. Our teacher, Mr Linnell liked trying to make the digeridoo sound musical. Ms Gill enjoyed listening to all of the schools presentation on the environmental projects they were involved in at their school.
Each of the four student really enjoyed the day and meeting students from across the Limestone Coast. Next year four new students from Year 6 and 7 will have the opportunity to be involved in this program and we highly encourage them to get involved.
