Following on from the girls success, the 8/9 Boys Football team travelled to Adelaide for the 2018 8/9 Boys Knockout competition State Country Final at the South Adelaide Football Club. After making their way through the regional competion they found themselves matched up with a familiar opponent, St Marks of Port Pirie who actually played off against Tenison Woods College in this same game just a year ago. The team could not put a foot wrong early, and proceeded to kick six goals eight in the first quarter whilst also holding the opposition scoreless. The Tenison boys again proved to be dominant in the second quarter and whilst conceding a goal, kicked 7 of their own to all but seal the game for the Titans. By the time the final siren sounded, Tenison Woods College had improved to a twenty goal and twenty-three point to one goal, three-point win. The standout player on the day was small back-man, Billy Shanks. His impact on the game was highlighted early as he continually mopped up the loose ball down back while also taking countless contested marks over the course of the game. Co-captain Harry McInnes was the second best on ground with a six goal haul. His impact up the ground and around the half-forward area was impeccable and he played a true captains game. The other co-captain, Harry Tunkin played his usual 30 possession game as he continues to lead from the front in every way possible. The game also saw a standout performance from Darcy Porter whose accuracy was second to none. And rounding off the best on ground awards was Mitchell Sims. Sims played his usual ball winning type of game and set the tone early in the game.
