Students at Tenison Woods College were treated to a full day immersive learning experience on Monday, when Danish company Vestas brought their state-of-the-art virtual reality equipment to the College. Vestas, world leaders in wind energy, presented to a variety of year levels on a range of topics including career pathways, STEM in the workplace, and renewable power generation. Vestas engaged the student and staff participants through virtual reality experiences, simulating what it is to work at heights of 80m.
The day culminated with a discussion about the exciting partnership between Vestas, Infigen and Tenison Woods College.
We were delighted to welcome to the College Peter Cowling, Head of Vestas Australia and New Zealand, Clay Douglas, Vestas Australia and New Zealand Service Director and Glen Wilson, Vestas Wind Technology Australia Area Service Manager.
This is wonderful commitment to our Green STEM (sustainability) initiatives, which we look forward to harnessing in the future.
A strong, deliberate and effective partnership between the College, Infigen Energy and Vestas will contribute greatly to the development of a plethora of successful initiatives and programs beneficial to each organisation, other school communities in Australia and the broader community.

This initiative is one of many taking place during ‘STEMtember’ at Tenison Woods College, showcasing a month-long celebration of STEM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The College is providing up to six activities each day for students, with some events being held for a full day with multiple learning areas covered. These integrated learning sessions are designed to inspire and foster student's inner curiosity for problem solving using critical, creative and collaborative skills through STEM-based activities.
At Tenison Woods College we are deeply committed to ensuring that all our students and graduates have a deep appreciation of how they can be - and indeed need to be - stewards of our planet. This is for us how we express our faith commitment to walk tenderly and live justly for our human family – it is a non-negotiable. Days like today with wonderful partners Vestas and Infigen help our students appreciate the challenges and opportunities with sophistication and real-world application. So, thank you to Vestas and Infigen for bringing us to this point and being so committed to a partnership with us.
