Year 12 Three-Way Conferences will take place on Tuesday 4 September (4.00pm-8.00pm) downstairs in the Pam Ronan Centre. Students should have already brought home their letters regarding the conference, including the individual codes. If parents / carers have not received their letter, please contact Tanya Thomson thota@tenison.catholic.edu.au
The conference style conversations have replaced the more traditional Year 12 Parent/Teacher/Student Progress Reviews that have taken place in the past and have placed your child at the centre of the conversation. I would encourage you to attend the evening with your child to enable them to become more actively involved in the learning and reporting process. The conference style will be consistent with the characteristics of effective assessment and complement the approach already adopted with SIMON and PAM.
Conferences take the form of a conversation between your child, yourself and your child’s teacher. This approach will provide students with the opportunity to share their growth as a learner in order for them to accept accountability and responsibility for their progress and achievement, and demonstrate a growing understanding of their development as independent learners.
I would also take this opportunity to remind parents that the SACE Board will provide all Year 12 students with their final Statement of Results in December 2018.
Bookings for interviews will be via the website: Visit https://spring.edval.education Using your booking code, which you should have received, you can go online and request interviews with teachers. Online bookings opened for parents on Monday 27 August and close at 8.00am on Friday 31 August. After this time the data will be used to create the interview schedules. You can then go back online from Friday evening to download your interview schedule.
If you require further information or would like assistance regarding this process, please contact Tanya Thomson on (08) 8724 4650. Please have your booking code accessible if you ring for assistance.
