In Week 7 of Term 2, Tenison Woods College held its first annual Charity Day, themed ‘Cans, Coins and Casuals for a Cause’. The day was organised and led by our Year 12 students, taking on this year’s College motto of ‘Hand Up, Help Out’.
Over four and a half thousand dollars was raised from the day!
At the end of term assembly, the funds were presented by our College Captains to the South East Animal Welfare League Mount Gambier, headspace Mount Gambier and the Sunset Kitchen!
Along with the fundraising, students were asked to each bring a can of food as a donation to the St Vincent de Paul Society. In total, more than 1,300 cans were collected and donated locally to Vinnies.
It was a terrific effort from our College Community!
Tenison Woods College respectfully acknowledges the Boandik people are the First Nations people of the Mount Gambier South Eastern region of South Australia and pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, past, present and emerging.
