Newsroom
This week’s focus is on a number of items related to student learning.
Your Child's Learning Area Tasks
A fantastic feature of PAM is being able to view students’ progress in their learning areas. As we approach the end of Term 2, it is recommended that parents view this information. Once logged into PAM, select your child and then select the ‘Learning Areas’ tab. This tab provides current and timely information regarding assessment tasks and learning that your child is engaged in.
Semester 1 Reports
Reports for Semester 1 have been issued this week through the Parent Access Module (PAM). Student reports provide families with an overview of their child’s learning and a clear indication of their child's current achievements. Teacher feedback and reports on PAM are designed to provide an ongoing outline of student learning in each subject. This provides opportunities for parents and students to discuss their learning progress at the College. More information in relation to accessing student reports can be found in this newsletter.
Term 3 Timetables
Students in Year 8 to 12 will be able to access an electronic copy of their Term 3 timetable from Wednesday 4 July 2018 (Week 10) through Simon. Parents will also be able to view their children’s timetables through PAM. To do this, parents will need to log into PAM, select the child and then select the ‘student timetable’ tab. Opening the tab will provide information regarding the child’s weekly timetable for Term 3, including their teacher for each subject and lesson times.
Term 3 Timetable Changes
At Tenison Woods College, we understand there are, at times, personal and academic reasons for students to reassess their subject selections. Students have the option of changing their subject selections either at the end of term or the beginning of each term and semester. Students have a three week window to discuss their timetables with either Ms Couzens - Deputy Principal (students in Years 8 and 9) or Mr Quirke – Head of Senior School (students in Years 10, 11 and 12) and to make adjustments to new electives or semester based subjects beginning at the start of each semester or term. Students who wish to discuss adjustments to their timetable are to make an appointment with the above staff or visit the relevant administration area during recess or lunch time. If students require subject changes, the process for this is outlined below:
• Student to collect a Subject Change Form from the Front office or the PRC Office and have it signed by the relevant staff and their parents/carers
• Student to then meet with Head of Senior School or Deputy Principal to discuss the subject change
• Once the subject change is made, the student changes class
Accessing PAM
Every family has access to a PAM account which can be opened from the Tenison Woods College Website or by just entering pam.tenison.catholic.edu.au into any web browser. Alternatively, it can be opened in the Skoolbag app.
I look forward to offering some more tips next term!
