Museum Roadshow visits our College

30.05.18

On Thursday 24 May, the South Australian Museum brought the Museum Roadshow to Tenison Woods College.

The Roadshow is part of an Out of the Glass Outreach Program and is designed to engage students with Museum stories, collections and research and provide up-to-date scientific research. It also creates an opportunity for discussions on learning pathways in science, natural history and culture.

Junior primary students had fun exploring the wonders of nature, with five different programs on offer. Students explored monotreme mammals, identified bugs and bacteria using microscopes, studied scientific illustrations, created badges using natural products and investigated owl pellets to identify what owls eat!

It was an afternoon full of intrigue and discovery for our Junior School students and we thank Leeanne Bloomfield from the South Australian Museum for coordinating the day’s events.
