Tenison Woods College students, staff and families will be embracing Harmony Day on Wednesday 21 March with a range of activities throughout the day and evening. When students arrive at school they will be able to take a pledge of belonging and obtain an orange ribbon to symbolise the importance of embracing diversity. When the bell goes to start the day students will assemble on the oval in a heart shape and will be surrounded by the ELCC and Reception students holding orange balloons.
Lunchtime will see a variety of cultural foods, music and activities available in the Mall and the Junior School. These stalls will be run by the Student Councils and supporting staff. If you have some free time, pop in for a serve of Nachos, followed by a Kareni biscuit while you have your hands painted with Henna.
The day will culminate with a shared Harmony Dinner in the Pam Ronan Centre from 6.00pm. Bring along a cultural dish to share and taste the variety of wonderful foods that are traditionally available at this gathering.
Our College community consists of over 40 different nationalities and Harmony Day is a wonderful opportunity to embrace and showcase our diversity.
