Sixteen College students competed at the SA Country Swimming Championships in Broken Hill in January.
The club - Blue Lake Y Swim Club, finished second overall, with Thomas Bignell winning the perpetual trophy for the 12/13yo age group.
The 14 and Under Medley Relay team, consisting of Emma O’Callaghan, Hayley Pearson and Ashleigh Spicer broke an SA Country Championship Record. This was also a record in the 16 and Under age group.

Open Girls 4x100 Free Relay 3rd (Hayley Pearson, Jaime Spicer).
Open Girls 4x100 Medley Relay 2nd (Hayley Pearson, Ash Spicer, Jaime Spicer).
12 and Under Girls 4x50 Free Relay and Medley Relay 2nd (Aleisha Pearson, Ella McShane, Annelise Janssen).
14 and Under Girls 4x50 Medley Relay - 1st (SA Country Championship record) and Freestyle relay — 2nd (Emma O’Callaghan, Hayley Pearson, Ash Spicer).
16 and Under Boys 4x50 Free and Medley Relay—both 2nd (Archie Muller, Daniel O’Callaghan, Luke Janssen, Thomas Bignell).
18 and Under Girls 4x50 Free Relay—3rd and Medley Relay 2nd (Jaime Spicer).
Freddie Muller and Nicholas Bignell won bronze in Regional Relays.
STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Five students went on to compete at the SA State Championships in Adelaide a week later, Archie Muller, Hayley Pearson, Thomas Bignell, Aleisha Pearson and Freddie Muller.
Thomas achieved National times in 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke and is looking to compete at the 2018 Georgina Hope Foundation Australian Age Swimming Championships in Sydney in April this year.
Aleisha Pearson achieved Personal Best swims in all her events.
