MILO Cricket

This term we have 2 new cricket programs running at Tenison Woods College. These programs are run by the South Australian Cricket Association and our PE staff will also be helping out. The first in MILO In2CRICKET. MILO in2CRICKET is a super fun, safe, social and active program for girls and boys in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. It teaches children of all abilities the basic skills of cricket. Participants develop fundamental motor skills which set them up for a lifelong involvement in physical activity, as well as important social skills including teamwork and being a good sport! Each week your child will play game based activities that will keep them active, whilst having fun.  Like most junior sport programs, parent involvement is encouraged during these sessions.  The second is T20 Blast Cricket.  This is for boys and girls in Years 3-7 and follows a 20/20 style format where teams compete against each other.

Both programs will be held on the Tenison oval, the T20 being played on the pitch and the In2CRICKET on the oval near the big court.

Times are:

Every Tuesday for 6 weeks commencing Tuesday 13 February

In2CRICKET – 3:30pm - 4:30pm

T20 – 3:30pm – 5:00pm

Registrations for both programs are done online.  Simply do a Google search for Milo cricket club finder, click on the top link, type in the postcode 5290 and choose the Tenison Woods College option. Choose the right program and register. There is a $70 / $75 online payment for the programs and students will receive a backpack, bat, shirt, cap and stickers.

A T-ball competition for boys and girls in years 3 to 5 will be run in Term 1.  Games will be played on Friday nights 5.00pm – 6.00pm.  The first game is on February 9 and runs for 8 weeks.  The venue is the Baseball grounds at Blue Lake Sports Park.  Interested students should have received a note, but if not please collect one from the PE Office.
