In Week 5 this term, Early Learning to Year 5 students will receive a visit from KESAB and Wipe Out Waste. Our students, as well as students from other schools, are invited to attend a performance by Wally the Waste Wizard about what happens to our waste once it leaves our hands, the cost on the environment and ways to avoid excess waste at school and home. The hour sessions will take place on Wednesday 7 June at 12 noon and 2.00pm in the Barrie Holmes Stadium. Parents are welcome to attend to ensure the message makes it home.

The ABC’s ‘War on Waste’ by Craig Reucassel is a great starting point for families who would like to minimise the amount of waste they dispose of. I highly recommend watching it and it is available to watch at any time on ABC iView.

The amount of waste we dispose of as a school is enormous and we are looking at a range of innovative ways to curb this issue. Any support from families would be much appreciated.
