Year 10 students have hit the ground running, already completing components of task one for their 10-credit Personal Learning Plan (PLP) SACE subject, which is all geared around investigating themselves as learners.
During Week 1, the cohort were able to work with graduates from UniSA under the direction of Kim Giannoni (UniSA Connect Officer: Community) as part of The Career Awareness Program. Kim was delighted to return to the College in 2017, particularly as she could bring with her a team of Psychology graduates who are ready to commence the next stage of their study in various Masters degrees. She noted the minor adjustments made since the 2016 pilot, resulting from the collation of student feedback and observed that the program was a success once again.
Students were introduced to the seven capabilities of a competent learner and then toured the excellent facilities on offer locally at the UniSA campus. They also completed their Career Match Profiles. PLP teachers have been hosting drop-in sessions at lunch times and the students are busy working towards a Week 5 deadline. Stay tuned for more updates as the year unfolds.
